Coop Norrbotten Arena
Audico, previously known as Bright Installation AB, carried out an extensive installation in Coop Norrbotten Arena with the aim of creating a live experience beyond the ordinary.
Coop Norrbotten Arena, also known as Coop Arena, is a sports and events venue located in Skutviken, near Luleå. As the home of Luleå HF, the arena sought to enhance the hockey experience for visitors. They partnered with Audico, then Bright Installation AB, to integrate cutting-edge experience technology into the arena.
In collaboration with Dial-IT and Bright Group Finland, Audico had just four months to complete a comprehensive contract. The project encompassed the installation of new Philips arena lighting, a NEXO loudspeaker system, BARCO projectors for ice projection, BlackTrax technology for projection positioning, and an LED oval above the ice.
The investment aimed to optimise the live experience during Luleå Hockeyförening's SHL and SDHL games. By combining ice and LED screen projections with an enhanced sound system, the arena created an immersive experience that significantly heightened the audience's sense of presence.
"The joy of being involved from start to finish in a project of this scale is overwhelming. What started with flipchart sketches in a hockey arena became reality, setting a new standard for Swedish hockey arenas," said the Sales Manager at Audico.
ONE OF A KIND
This installation was unprecedented in Nordic hockey and has received widespread international recognition.
In November 2018, it won first prize at the Daily DOOH Gala Awards in London in the "Best Building Install" category—the first of three major awards.
At the 2019 ISE fair in Amsterdam, it again earned first prize at the InAVation Awards in the "Leisure & Entertainment" category.
Two months later, the project received its third accolade at the ProLight fair in Frankfurt, winning first prize in the "Best Arena" category at the Mondo*Dr Awards.
