Sara Kulturhus - Skellefteå
The Sara Cultural Center, including a hotel, is a key part of Skellefteå's urban development and a symbol of the city's transformation. The building houses a variety of functions, including stages, a library, art galleries, a restaurant, and hotel rooms. Audico Systems was responsible for the comprehensive AV solution, covering everything from planning and project management to installation, commissioning, and programming of audio, lighting, and video equipment, including infrastructure and control systems for stage areas, rehearsal rooms, and a mobile AV system.
Introduction
The construction of the Sara Cultural Center with a hotel was a significant part of Skellefteå's development and central to the extensive urban transformation. The project included features such as stages, a library, art galleries, a restaurant, and hotel rooms.
The design of the building emerged from an architectural competition held in 2016, in which White Arkitekter emerged as the winners. The structure primarily incorporates a wooden frame, and the hotel portion stands 20 stories tall with a basement.
Solution
Audico Systems executed a turnkey contract for the AV (audiovisual) system, which encompassed design, project management, installation, commissioning, and programming of audio, lighting, and video equipment, infrastructure, and control systems for stage areas, rehearsal rooms, and a mobile AV system. The installation took place from Q4 2020 to Q4 2021 with a budget of of 12.4 million SEK.
Product Specification
The project included elements such as the Müller BBM's VIVACE system. For the PA-system in the various stages, L'Acoustics equipment and Yamaha mixers were installed. The lighting equipment consisted of lighting consoles from MA Lighting, fixtures from ETC and Chauvet, as well as infrastructure from Luminex. The video equipment included Panasonic cameras, Vivitek projectors, and image distribution from IDK (SDVoE).
