Hospital Nova
Hospital Nova in Central Finland represents a new kind of hospital architecture in Finland. Together with Lighting Design Collective, we were responsible for the exterior face of the hospital.
The theme was linked to a broader urban lighting project, “City of light,” initiated by the city of Jyväskylä, where the hospital is located. Lighting thus played a significant role in the façade of the buildings throughout the city. The aim was to soften the environment with beautiful lighting, which adds comfort and a sense of security. The lighting solution is built to represent nature and can be easily modified to match different seasons, events, or holidays.
The metallic elements of the buildings are fitted with Custom Outdoor Profile LED lights from German manufacturerSchnick-Schnack Systems. The lighting equipment has an RGP color mix with a pixel spacing of 100mm. The content is created with the Skandal POET media server, and the picture signal is routed to the lights via Pharos Architectural Control’sVLC series light controller.
